Sinéad O’Connor was likely prepared for her death.

Many celebrities act as if they can cheat death.

Even if they do not believe they are untouchable, they fail to prepare for their eventual demise.

There is an interesting irony in this fact, considering how many celebrities have died suddenly from drugs, plane crashes, or unknown causes.

According to a recent Page Six article titled “Sinéad O’Connor gave kids instructions for what to do if she dropped ‘dead tomorrow,’” Irish musician Sinéad O’Connor was aware of her own mortality and seems to have made preparations accordingly.

Sinéad O’Connor was preceded in death by her son.

Despite being Irish, Sinéad O’Connor died in London in July 2023.

In an interview with People magazine in 2021, Sinéad O’Connor shared how she wanted her finances and music to be protected if she suddenly died.

O’Connor also indicated she had instructed her children from their youth about what they should do if something happened to her.

She told her children to call her accountant before even calling 911 to ensure the record company did not start stealing money from her family.

On July 26, these scenarios became a reality.

Sinéad O’Connor died at age 56 in her London home.

While her body will undergo an autopsy, police indicated Sinéad O’Connor was pronounced dead at the scene, and foul play is not suspected.

Sinéad O’Connor was survived by her son Jake, age 36; her daughter Roisin, age 27; and her son Yeshua, age 16.

Her family released statements announcing grief over her passing and requesting their privacy be respected.

The death of Sinéad O’Connor occurred about 18 months after her 17-year-old son Shane died by suicide.

Over social media, O’Connor shared the pain she felt in this loss.

Although Sinéad O’Connor found fame with hit songs like “Nothing Compares 2 U,” she was accustomed to controversy and sadness.

Time will tell whether her estate planning effectively protected her finances and her art for her surviving children.
