Chadwick Boseman left a legacy of support.
People are drawn to superhero stories.
They like the idea of someone protecting and caring for others.
Although the death of a hero onscreen is hard, the death of a respected person in real life is more devastating.
Fans were shocked when the Black Panther actor died on August 28, 2020.
Chadwick Boseman had been battling colon cancer for years and let only close family and friends know.
According to a recent MSN article titled “Chadwick Boseman’s Widow and Family Reach Agreement Over Actor’s Estate,” his wife Taylor Simone Ledward had been by his side throughout his battle.
Upon his death, Boseman left his widow in charger of his estate as the exector.
Supporting a dying spouse and settling an estate are both acts of love.
The final report of accounting for the estate was obtained by RadarOnline.
According to the court documents, the $900,00 bond for costs associated with probate reduced the size of the estate slightly.
The estate plans to dispute a $51,000 tax bill alleged to be owed by the company Chadwick Boseman, Inc.
The probate documents also outline several reimbursement requests made by Ledward.
These include funeral and burial costs of $10,000 for the funeral service, $9,500 for the venue, $1,275 for flowers, and $7,495 for the mausoleum crypt at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, South Carolina.
Ledward also purchased mausoleum crypts for $22,000.
These are for the parents of Boseman so they may be buried next to their son when they die.
Although the court did not grant reimbursements for the request in its entirety, it did provide $47,000 in reimbursement.
How much is the estate of Chadwick Boseman worth?
According to Ledward, the value was inventoried at $3,881,758.31 with residual checks included.
Since the death of Boseman, the estate netted more than $230,000.
Because Boseman did not own real property, no real estate taxes were due.
Ledward has paid the California and federal income taxes.
To honor his legacy, Howard University and Netflix have partnered to fund an undergraduate scholarship for his alma mater.
In addition, the College of Fine Arts at Howard University has been renamed the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts.
Through his careful preparations and the diligence of his beloved wife and executor, the legacy of Chadwick Boseman will continue.
